Blueberry Smoothies

This treat is very easy and very healthy! We all loved it... well, Lindsay decided she didn't like it as much as the rest of us, but it is really good. It's just blueberries, yogurt (we used strawberry), honey, icecubes and a little milk to help the blending process be a little easier.

DIRT!

They are building another house behind ours and so we have another pile of dirt in our backyard again. Ah well, at least it's easy, fun, free entertainment for the kids!

Dangerous with a hose!

Logan new passion is playing with the hose, and getting his brother and sister wet whenever they get too close! It's a game I don't mind because it keeps them close to the house and it gives our dead dead grass some much needed extra water.

Pioneer Activity

We had a really great primary activity last Saturday. The kids got to dress up and go on a "trek". They began by building their covered wagons... and choosing what things to take (they only had room for 5 things). Things like the dishes had to be left behind and things like cornmeal and blankets were chosen to go. Then they stopped at different stops like Sugar Creek and Chimney rock where they made butter and tried jerky. After arriving at the Salt Lake Valley they had a little parade around the church and ate homemade icecream afterwards. It was so much fun, my only regret.... I forgot my camera!!!

Sleep Out

Shane has been working really hard and long hours lately and the kids were feeling the effects. They needed to spend some time with him. (not to mention I needed a good hour or two of peace) So they are having a "sleep out" tonight on the trampoline. They are having treats and watching a movie outside and are so so so so so so excited to be having this experience with their dad. There are few things I love more than to watch my wonderful husband having fun with our kids. And they are having fun... I can't believe how happy this has made Brandon and Lindsay. I think my favorite thing though is that this was Shane's idea. He was the one to suggest it to the kids, he was the one to pick the movie and buy the treats and he is every bit excited as they are. I am blessed to have a husband who loves and enjoys his children.

Looks like fun, doesn't it?!?!? I might have to go join my beautiful family!

don't you love the get up Shane created so they could watch a movie outside?

Fire Station Fun

We visited the fire station last week with club SOS. It was tons of fun... Logan loved the trucks and my kids were not shy about asking questions! Sometimes I don't know where they came from because they are SO different from Shane and I. We are both kindof shy, but our kids really pull us out of our shell because they are the opposite... very outgoing and friendly! Anyways, we had a really fun time, the firemen were awesome.....WE LOVE OUR FIREMEN!

"Wait a Minute!"

A few nights ago for dinner, I made quesadillas with hamburger and other things in the middle... anyways LIndsay REFUSED to eat it. "It's so disgusting! I hate it!" These are the things she was saying over and over and over. Finally Shane told her there would be no bed time snack if she didn't at least eat one of her triangles. So she tried a small nibble. She was very surprised! "Wait a minute!" she said, "This is really good! It's delicious!" And she ate almost all 4 of her triangles rather than only one.... just goes to show the old saying is true... You never know if you'll like it until you try it!

A Big Thanks!

We were able to go camping this year with a group of friends and had an awesome time. We left Thursday evening and only stayed until Saturday afternoon, but who knew that so much fun could be fit into such a short little trip. It was actually the perfect timing I thought... long enough to do things, but short enough to keep from going crazy! Some of my favorite memories will be... Lindsay being scared to death of driving the mountain roads, hanging out with all the other moms and dads after all the kids were in bed, and Logan... dirty dirty Logan. He had a blast with being able to freely get his hands, feet, and face in the dirt! Lots of laughs, lots of fun... thanks to Jen and Karl for inviting us!

my dirty dirty boy...

but I still love him!

Silly Sunday Nights

I LOVE Sunday nights! We usually try to keep the tv off, unless everyone wants to watch AFV, and we are all home, and so the night is just spent being together and doing silly things.... playing games, wrestling, dressing up, wrapping heads and mouths with tape (too bad no available pictures of that... when we rescue them from the dead computer, I'll post them) and just having fun together. The kids especially love it when we bring out the camera... as you can tell.
