So, my family recently came for a visit. I thought it would be a good opportunity to do a bit of spring cleaning. one of the things I did was to clean out all of my cupboards. Have you ever gone to find some spices or dried herbs, knowing you have it, but not being able to find it? I do that all the time, and I think, "gosh, I swear I just bought some cinnamon, basil, parsley..." whatever it might be. Then while at the store, I would get some more because I thought I was out. Well, I found that I really did "just buy" all those things. During my cleaning, I found 3 large bottles of parsley, 2 bottles of basil, 2 bottles of curry, 3 things of cinnamon and 2 things of dehydrated onions! It was really quiet eye opening to how disorganized I am! Oh, well.... at least I know I have plenty of those things now!

Funny! I just did the same thing with vanilla over the weekend! I'm trying to build up my spice supply now that I actually cook in my kitchen...I thought I had already bought some vanilla but couldn't find it. Sure enough, after I made the carrot cake, there was the vanilla. Oh well, I seem to use vanilla a lot in baking!
I do that too. I am glad I am not the only one. :)
Right there with you. I put things away after Gavin bought some stuff for the Youth cookout. Now we have 3 Paprikas, Celery Salts, Nutmegs, and Cloves! And of course those are the random spices it will take forever to condense. I already combined half-full bottles of sesame seeds, pepper, seasoning salt, basil, and oregano! Maybe I'll come up with some craft to use empty spice bottles...
